Why so unfair?

The housing market has become increasingly more difficult to break into in recent years. Baby Boomers often lament that Gen 'Y' and Millenials are the lazy generation, unwilling to make sacrifice. But with housing becoming more and more expensive, and university and other costs also increasing. It is becoming increasingly difficult to own your first home.To put it into perspective, households in Sydney in the 1970s when Baby boomers were breaking into the property market was five times the average annual wage. Now, many areas in Sydney are nearly 13 times the average wage. It is almost three times more expensive to break into housing market today. Recently Malcolm Turnbull stated that kids should call on their parents to help purchase their first home. But the reality is that many Australian citizens themselves cant afford to purchase a home, let alone help their own children to purchase one.
